Republic of Architects took part at the workshop "Create the livable city" organised by Philips from 24-25 November 2011. We had the opportunity to experiment ways to express through architectural lighting and to discuss with experts preoccupied with the quality and evolution of lifestyle in contemporary cities (Marco Bevolo, Tapio Rosenius, Jasmin van der Pol, Ulrike Brandi). The Palace’s building was inaugurated in 1936 as a host to cultural, educational and artistic projects, but has not been functional since the 90s, when a fire burnt 40% of it.

Honorarable Mention:
006 Solution, belonging to SC Republic of Architects SRL from Bucharest.
„The project was noted for the originality that achieved the continuity of public space within the building. The Jury did not appreciate the alteration of the original proportions of the hall, these beeing a necessity of the city”.
